Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas Launches In Theaters November 14th

SC_0095.tiff-copy1-795x380 Los Angeles, CA --- Aug 27, 2014 --- Kirk Cameron's production company, CAMFAM Studios, and Nashville-based Provident Films announced a three-picture deal today, kicking off with Cameron's new movie KIRK CAMERON'S SAVING CHRISTMAS, which hits theaters November 14. Samuel Goldwyn Films will distribute the film into theaters for a special limited engagement release. The new agreement was announced by Cameron and Ben Howard, Senior Vice President of Provident Films.

"I am extremely excited to begin this new, ongoing relationship with Provident Films," Cameron said. "My hope for SAVING CHRISTMAS is that families all across the country will join with my family in putting Christ back into Christmas! For too many years Christmas has been attacked and hammered by those outside the church, and it's even changed how we think about Christmas inside the church. We are proudly going to put Christ back into Christmas and remind Christians why this is not only a holy day, but a celebration as well. I believe that families will love this movie!"

Who better to put Christ back into Christmas than Kirk Cameron? KIRK CAMERON’S SAVING CHRISTMAS is an engaging movie filled with laughter, warmth, and charm. Encouraging moviegoers to see Christmas with fresh eyes as they enter into God's ultimate story, KIRK CAMERON'S SAVING CHRISTMAS tells a story that gives the audience a biblical basis for Christmas celebrations, and the inspiration to stand strongly as the culture looks to trivialize and eliminate the faith elements of this holy season. CamFam is again partnering on the production with Liberty University (production partner on Unstoppable).

Samuel Goldwyn Films is planning a November 14 release of KIRK CAMERON'S SAVING CHRISTMAS in approximately 400 theaters. Meyer Gottlieb, President of Samuel Goldwyn Films, stated, "We could not be more excited to work with Kirk and Provident on this project. We all last worked together on Fireproof, which was a huge success and fun for all involved. This is a winning combination and we look forward to bringing this film to family audiences around the country."

Ben Howard, SVP of Provident Films, commented, "We can't wait to get started on KIRK CAMERON'S SAVING CHRISTMAS and what lies beyond. We love Kirk, and believe that he consistently delivers films that resonate loudly with the Christian audience; his work has developed into a leading brand for this audience. After working with Kirk on Fireproof, and more recently on Unstoppable and Mercy Rule, we believe Kirk's brand fits very well with what we do, and couldn't be happier about this new partnership moving forward."

Added Kirk: "I've been looking for a home for my projects for awhile now. We have big plans at CAMFAM Studios, and wanted to have a home base. The relationship with Provident Films has been developing over the past months, and we realized they were the natural choice. I believe Ben Howard and his team set the standard for marketing and distribution in the faith-based marketplace, and I’m excited to partner with them on some great films we have coming."

It is expected that the second and third films in the partnership between CAMFAM Studios and Provident Films will release in 2015 and 2016.
