Love is often represented by soft, cuddly, warm images. It is common to hear sentiments that all the world needs is a little more love. We are told that love is something anyone can do. But are these common thoughts about love accurate? From God's perspective to love is to identify with Christ. I Corinthians 13:4-7, offers practical examples. In part this means:
To identify with Christ is to invite the same opposition that he invited.
Biblical love does not mix well with a world that is bent on pleasing itself. Committing to love is committing to war.
Love is not for the faint of heart.
