When It's One of Those Days

When was the last time you had one of those days? Perhaps your day started happily enough. You had your cup of coffee, read your Bible, and began your day full of grace.

But then, life happened.

For me, the downhill slide began at the post office. It wasn't Christmas or any other holiday, so I pictured myself and my preschooler breezing into the post office at 10:00 am and getting right back into the car ten minutes later.

It turned out a lot of people must have had that thought because the post office was packed.

The line was to the door and moving very slowly. Two post office clerks worked as swiftly as they could, but there were just too many people.

"Did you bring a snack?" my three-year-old Lucy asked.

Of course, I always have a snack when I think I'm going to be out for a particular length of time. But I didn't think this was going to be a long errand. I didn't have a cracker to my name.
