Treasure can be thought of as anything that is considered to be precious or to have great value. We all must define what the treasures are in our lives, and how they affect our daily living. The Bible speaks a great deal about treasure. Jesus said in Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also," and in Proverbs we read that "in the house of the righteous there is much treasure" (Proverbs 15:6).
Is there "much treasure" in your house?
Consider the treasures in your life. Do they bring honor and glory to God? Or are they things that draw you away from God?
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal." (Matthew 6:19-20)
The psalmist proclaimed one of his great treasures:
"I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure." (Psalm 119:162)
Is God's Word a treasure to you? Are you reading the Bible daily?
