Whose Game Plan Do You Follow?

Colossians 2:6-10: As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Oh Paul, how true. Could he have said it any better for today’s world? Man has created their own reality by taking what they have learned as science or principle, and then defining it to fit their own needs, conforming it to their own traditions, and creating a philosophy that becomes fact in their own world.

You have to marvel at the game plan of the devil. He had to convince people to stay away from the Word. If he could get people away from the Word, he could keep them from building a relationship with Jesus and therefore create an environment that would cause them to define their own guidelines. A shock and awe approach was not going to work; man’s cognitive process is too good for that.

The devil had to take a long steady, consistent approach to turn people from the truth of God and indoctrinate their minds to believe philosophy and empty deceit. How did he do it?
